this was my dads car dad recently pased away need help on how to restor this car dad has a rebuilt 350 he planed on puting in the .the car is all original with a 327 3 speed on the tree posi rear end 2 dr sedan.should i leave in the 327 or op for the 350 plan to use as dayly driver

If the 327 is tired or worn out go ahead and drop the 350 in and store the 327 away. Just in case you want to go back original. The 350 will have a lot more low end torque and thats good for street use. You will probably be able to keep it in high gear anyway. I love 3 on the tree, I would keep that for sure.

hello i found out my belair has a 283 not 327 it also has the original 2bbl rochester .i just found a intake and carb on craigslist for 75 bucks intake and crb camoe off a early 80s elco with a305 the carb is 750 quadrajet manuel chock is this to much flow for my 283

The Q-jet carb will work great on your 283 Because it is vacuum operated and has small primaries. You will need to have it calibrated for your engine combo. But you need a non ECM controlled carb. The early 80s cars had them.  Most trucks have the one you need . Stay away from the ecm carbs because you can not use them without the ecm (JUNK!!!!!). Look at the carb on the front pass side corner there will be an electronic connector on the top plate.

I'm partial to 283's but if you pull it to put in the 350, do what Chevelle83 says and put it in the corner of the garage.
