I read the article on the 5.3 ls engine and it really got me thinking about getting one to swap in to my V6 94 camaro. The engine has a lot of miles so i thought about putting 3.8L heads and intake manifold on it since it is a 3.4L Does anybody have an idea of which would be best? How hard would it be to put the 5.3L in?

Since you'll have to pull the motor no matter what you do, it all comes down to how much you've got to spend.
Swapping to the V-8 will be better as far as power, but you'll have to get a V-8 f-body trans, you'll need to find the harness out of 98-02 Z/28 for the engine compartment, change the motor mounts, get a V-8 radiator, and all the V-8 front motor accessories.
The cheaper alternative will be to swap in a fresh, or fresher, V-6. I don't think you can swap to 3.8L heads since the 3.8L V-6 was a different motor from the 3.4
The 3.8L was the Buick-designed V-6, while the 3.4 was a bigger version of the old 2.8L V-6 that dated back to the 3rd Gen Camaros. It later was punched out to 3.1L, then 3.4L in its final version.
Now, what you could do is swap over to the 3.8L V-6 in your car, that way you'd still be able to use your original trans, but would have a significant boost in HP. You need a harness and other accessories off a 3.8L Camaro/Firebird, but they aren't hard to find in salvage yards, and the parts are cheaper.
