Hey does anyone know if a 66 Big Block manual flywheel will interchange into a 70 350 small block? I did this years ago but lost the front main bearing in the small block. (Was it a Fluke?)I have a 66 chevelle w/ a high performance 355 cid and want an 11" clutch setup. I don't want to ruin this motor!
Thanks,
Kevin

All big block chevys are externally balanced. small blocks are internally balanced, except 400 SB and 1986 and later 1 piece rear seal engines. The bolt patterns are the same from small to big block, the 86 and later have a smaller bolt patterns. I would get a new one for that chevelle Its worth it. Yes, running the wrong flywheel will damage the engine in a very short time.

Thanks, I should have known that after all these years, just couldn't put my finger on the documentation. Great excuse to buy a new flywheel!
