You could buy a Golden Anniversary in a Impala sport coupe, Impala SS, or any convertible model with any engine option. I bought my car from the original owner, my neighbor, many years ago. I have known this car since new. My car came with a 6cyl. engine, iron powerglide and radio delete. No ps or pb. 927 paint code, 892 trim code.(yellow/black cloth interior). Have updated to dualquad 409 and 4 speed. Much more fun to drive. I was told every dealer could have at least one car for display and I assume some dealers had several. They are fairly rare cars but not necessary worth any more money than a reg. Impala. This car gets a lot of attention at car shows because of the unusual color combo.

This thread has been very helpful I have a Golden body that matches the paint code and trim code. The car is vin number 21847s199675 It is a std shift car with no power adds or air and is in very good shape I understand from the vin it was a v8 car but because it does not have interior or build sheet how can i find out what engine it came with. Thanks for your help BillR

Hello! Im new here but not to Impalas. Verne, I have a 62 SS Impala(not a anniversary car) and it is a original 16000 some odd mile convertible. It is numbers matching w/ a 327/300hp motor with a cast iron glide. It is early production because of the Dec.61 delivery date to Don's Chevrolet of Miami,Fl. and sold Jan. 9 1962. It also has the silver panel in the rear and the word Chevrolet in the trim between the inner taillights is diecast not annodized aluminum with the word Chevrolet running in the middle of the peak of the trim and not above the peak is an the rest of 62 production of the annodized trim. It has a power top, brakes, windows, and steering. It also has T4's that are not repos for both high and low beams still. So with your reference of "every '62 327 automatic received the new aluminum powerglide" is that for only the anniversary cars or all 62SS's.
