i bought this truck like this now i have to work done to it and i not a mechanic it starts and runs but it clatters when give it gas so i can't drive it what do i do i know get fixed

sounds like the timing is way too high. How does it start when it's warm? Does the starter drag? I need a little more info.

Does the "clatter" you hear sound like detonation, or is it a deeper knocking noise? If the truck has/had oil pump issues, it might've hurt the bottom end of the motor.
