i just bought an 83 chevy c10 with a straight 6 4.1L...does anybody have any i deas to get me started off on building her up?  

gm does sell the 600+ hp big block crate motor...  that would be a good staring place...  bolts in.... you might experience  a slight loss of fuel economy with that choice..

what are your ideas... how much do you want to spend...

do you want it a stock height sleeper,   a tubbed out pro street truck with a supercharger sticking through the hood... a ground hugger so low that you drag flattened soda cans...  a nascar craftsman truck replica...

when they made that year of truck... there  were thousands of different  way to get it...

does it have the electronic fuel control????  extra wires to a 2 bbl carb??  

it can be what you want it to be...    but it is your project...  to match your ideas...  anything from chrome valve stem caps to the most radical blown, turbocharged fuel injected motor ever seen...

kind of just want to restore back to original with the engine i have but still have some power behind it. and i wanna bag it like you said " a ground hugger so low that you drag flattened soda cans..." haha i like that one. but since its my first project i hardly even know where to start.
