My friend tells me that his friends 96 camaro is blowing oil filter gaskets within 20 seconds of the car starting. he didn't leave the previous gasket on the engine and when he starts the car up the pressure is at max. I told him the pcv valve might be bad but he told me that the check engine light isn't on. So I told him there is a clog somewhere. He also told me that some of his engine friends (he owns a automatic transmission shop) tried to fix the bypass valve but that was ok. We are running out of ideas and we don't know where the clog could be. Has anyone had this happen to them or might know what the problem might be because I am stumped.

A bad PCV valve is NOT going to trip a check engine light. Tell him to change the PCV.
But, it sounds like maybe the pressure relief spring in the oil pump has gone bye-bye, so he's probably gonna need to install a new oil pump.

it is not the oil filter by pass valve in the filter adaptor.. it is the OIL PUMP internal bypass valve that is stuck... buy a new pump.. and put it in... if the motor has run without oil pressure the bearings may have become damaged....
the last one i had came in to the shop on the hook ... the car owner fired it up before i could stop him and backed it in... leaving a trail of fresh oil... when i poured out a whole bag of absorbant.. the local cats all came running and were rolling in it...
