I am junking the tuned port inj. on my street rod. The car runs ok but no horse power.I am going to a 4 barrel setup with a cam change.Has any one used a early 1986 and older manifold on the L-98 with aluminum center bolt heads ? Looks like every thing is the same except the angle on the center bolts. Any ideas?

The L98 heads use standard Gen I small block intake bolt pattern, so any Gen I intake will bolt right up. It's the later model LT1 and Vortech heads that have the different bolt pattern.

I beleave the L-98 centerbolt heads use a different intake. Edelbrock list a different intake for the 1987 and up L-98 . I have access to a number of 1986 and older manifolds, i think the only difference is the angle of the holes in the center of the manifold.

Just looked at a set of L-98 aluminum heads , looks like it will use a standard intake, also looked at a set of steel  heads and these have the offset bolts located in the center of the manifold.I should be able to use any intake from 1991 back. Would really like to use a single plain intake mostly for looks but to be since able i will probably go with a dual plain.
