buy a scan tool  that gives you data not just codes...  it will allow you to see what is wrong...

you will also need an electronic information  data source like eautorepair.net or alldatadiy.com


i take it that you did not get the extended warrentee.???

have you payed your onstar bill .???? they can scan your truck and send you a printout remotely.. i don't know if they have more than codes???

you can take it to an independant mechanic...

you can take it to a gm dealer..

which ever you *** they should write the trouble codes on the bill..  make sure that you note them also before you leave the shop before dropping the truck off.

the service manager usually has a scan tool...    

if they do not let you know what codes are displayed... and write them down on the bill...  they can charge you again and again for the same  non repair.


i have a friend who's car kept turning on the check engine light...  he took it back to the dealer again and again...   they said it was nothing... until he got out of warrentee...  then the tranny was bad..   at 3200 bucks...
