Hello all:
I am brand new here and have a 57 Chevy. Perhaps someone can tell me where is a good place to get the hood bullets rechromed. I would like to keep the originals so I don't have to go to Danchuck for new ones.
Anyone know a good plating shop?

are they pitted... is the chrome got bumps in it...
there is tons of work to rechrome pot metal
having a chrome shop strip the chrome plating off.. and any under layers of plating also using a die grinder to grind out any pits... filling those pits with more pot metal.. sanding it... copper plating it... fixing any more imperfections, more copper plating.. nickel plating... polishing out any imperfections in the nickel plating.. then chrome plating the nickel plating... and buffing it to a shine...
i have not prices new ones.... but you might invest in them... then you can take your time fixing the originals... if you really want to invest the time to make them right...
hope this helps...

I think Classic Chevy International (they're out of Orlando) offers a trade-in for old-to-new hood bullets.
If not, just find a good plating shop that can strip them down and rechrome them. It's pretty common for peopel having chrome work done, so you shoudl be able to find a shop in Ft. Lauderdale with no problem.
