hey, I wud like to kno how does a Ford 289 or 302 do against a Chevy 350? wich wud be a better buy? An which wud b a more BadAss DoorSlammer for a streetcar?

It's all about the money - either the Ford or Chevy can be built into a high hp configuration. Your best bet for the money would be to upgrade the 350 to a 383, add some nice AFR heads, roller cam, lots of other expensive parts and have a blast. Of course this will likely require you get a new transmission and rear end too. Going fast is not cheap.
Getting 500 real hp can be achieved with the 383, something the 289 or 302 will have a tough time on pump gas.
If you are low on cash - go with the 350 and a small nitrous kit. Stay around the 100 hp level and buy a good fuel pump.
