hi,i have a 72 chevelle,do you no if chevy makes a speedometer that go`s to 140mph.like pont.its 454 with a 5speed, it goes right passet 120. one more thing,why don`t they make spoilers for chevelles,thanks.  

in todays world of car parts rebuilding and restoring..   gauge faces can be custom lettered and speedo heads recalibrated to read up to any speed you think of..

there is an easier way to know your speed..  buy a gps unit. put it on the dashboard..

or you can get one of the comet tracker phones from sprint/nextel..   that way you can log on later and see where you went and how fast you were going..  it is also proof of how fast you were going...

i would think that would be great for el mirage and out on the salt flats.. if there is cell service there....       in fact..... think of mountain climbers... gps cell phones in their packs... and their friends around the world following their climb...    no fudging on those results...

check the positions of the spark plug wires on the distributor cap. I have had that before everything will seem fine at start up and idle but at like 2000+ rpm you will get backfire through the carb. The most common error  is the wires that go to cylinders 8 and 4.  

hi,it is fine all the way ot 3000 rpm as long as you don`t kick in the 4bl then it pops though the carb.let off and push it down slow it wont pop.
