Hello, I am new to this forum but not new to chevelle restorations. I have a restoration shop in north Florida. I am now doing a frame off for the original owner. All documentation and original sales receipt and protecto-plate. He ordered it in 68 with a 327 275hp 3 speed on the floor and bench seats and manual lift top. 3.31 positraction. It has been in a garage since 1983. When ordering interior seat covers and door panels NPD could not supply me with the correct style panels and upholstery. I know the interior is original. In a search of all A body GM's I ran across a 68 Buick skylark with custom interior. Thats it. I never ran across that switch before. Has anyone else ever heard of this or have seen this? The body is back on the frame and all running gear finished. It will be ready for interior in about 60 days. It will be Matador red and black. 100% back to original. I would appreciate your reply and looking to make more comments in the near future. One more odd situtation. When he bought the car, he complained until he was tired of going back to the dealer that the engine would over heat when idling for any length of time. The dealer told him thats the way the engine operated. So he lived with it. Well in the process of replacing the radiator core support and radiator, I noticed a small opening (21") in the core support and a 21 " core single row. The new parts were quite different 29" core support opening and a 3 row 29" radiator core. Its obvious the car came from the factory with a 6 cylinder core support and 6 cylinder radiator. Saving the old parts as a talking point Thanks, bowtiefo
