ok i have a 1982 chevy silverado it has a 350 chevy bored .30 over and a 390/480 cam i am running a stock gm alluminum intake from a 1980 corvette and a holley q-jet replacement...My ignition set up is accel oem replacement distributer and a accel supercoil...Flowtech Headers..And a turbo 350 trans with a lock up converter which is un hooked...So i am asking what should i set my timing at and what do i gap my plugs before i had the transmission with a lock up converter my truck would go alot faster more take off is this because i dont have my lock up converter hooked up and if so how do i hook it up

Also i dont know if my 4 barrels are kickin in or not its vaccum and i dont got much cuz my cam

Same ignition system for the truck and Corvette, so spark plug gap is the same.
As for the timing, start with factory timing, then fine tune from there.

Ok i think i got it set 45 degrees advance since it is a mild cam but im not sure exactly what size cam all i know is they guy put 390/480 cam on the paper that i bought the truck from when i am at a dead stop then punch it it bogs down before it takes off same way if i have the gas half way then punch it it takes a minute also how can i chevk to see that my 4 barrels are kickin in.....where can i find rv cams at i have looked

Sounds like the accelerator pump isn't adjusted properly.

ok i have read to set the pump arm WOT then use a feeler gauge to set it at .15 clearence could this mean i be to lean or to rich i am new to holleys pretty much learning....what does a lock up converter do? Thank You

A lockup converter has no slippage when the trans is in its final gear. It locks the impellars in the converter so you have 1:1 going into the transmission. For a car ont he street, you want one.
