Im in a delima. I love Ford trucks (I own a ranger at the moment) and I love chevy cars/engines.
I am currently looking for a older 2wd ranger to do a engine swap in. I have access to tons of 350 sb stuff and I am thinking of going that route. My dad and friends who will help me are big car chevy fans.
So its almost the best of 2 worlds. I have my Ford chassis and my Chevy engine. The only problem is on the Ford site I am suprised I am not banned yet for even brining it up.
So I want to hear a chevy side of things, what do you think of a 350 in a ranger?

I myself also am venturing into abomination. I have an 87ranger with a blown 2.0. I also have a 0014 4bolt 350 and 350 turbo lying around. Hmmm, I do believe I have some spare time. Been thinking about it for a while now I think I will make it happen. It may not be right, but I don't really care... Good luck with yours, I will post my progress as it advances.

Why not. Anything can be made to fit anywhere. Your imagination is the limit. Most if not all of the swap-hardware is readily available. Even a sedate small block should rock and roll in a lightweight truck. The 350-350 trans is the best way to go. Biggest problem will be making it hook-up to the pavement. Post your findings, if you have any trouble, I would be glad to help. JW.
