Yes.. Hello I have a Question about the BC Rochester 1 bbl carb. I can take NO MORE. This car is a Little heavy for a Single Carb. Can I use an adaptor from a single to a 2 BBL .... to a small 4 then a LARGE 4 BBL ?Then end up with a Large Holley 4 barrel ? I Don't want dual carb with fenton Dual manifold. I think I might be able to squeeze it. Maybe Not. Anyone try this yet?. Any afforable Upgrade withOUT going Fuel Injected *** This Distributor single Points stuff!! has GOT TO GO!!!!TOO Help

JUST curoius I beleive I'm going to upgrade from the 1bar BC Rochester to Holley . Anyone have a idea of the maximum CFM for a chevy 235 . Or what would be recommended Quadrojet? Corvette.. Holley 4 bar 350 MCF ? 500 650 750 , 800 and please... Don't sy keep the 1 bar on . This 62 chevy 4 door is getting 2 things, a carb upgrade, and a super HOT Dist. That's it. I like to keep things Original, But this is all about the auto choke for 1962. I could care less about a Heated choke. I'm thinking Vette!!! carb or 283 or Even 409 carb ,on this Common 235 truck engine. This can't be rocket science. Please help I just want to know what NOT to put on. I only have 4 things , Fuel , Auto choke , & throtle linkage, & vaccume advance. That's it. So I really don't need a Carb with 30 inlets & outlets. This is getting way out of hand when I'm looking at Motorcraft.. lol Help

Another option you could look at, keeping the straight six, upgrade to a later 60s 250 inline six and install a 4 bbl Q-Jet, or a Rochester 2GC. Get a little more torque to move your car.

why not first get a carb off a 292 chevy/gmc truck/van. from the mid 77 to 1990.... those have lots of airflow... and with a few tiny mods.. they bolt on.. just plug off the excess vacuum ports...
it is a rochester 1 bbl.. but they are far superior to the early units... called a 1ME as they have electric chokes.. the 77 to 79 passenger car versions from the integeral head 250s will also work... think camaro /nova's
check hood clearance first... they are a little taller...

Thanxz guys, that would be a 2 bbl off the 292? right . Hi Do you know of any Carbs that might take this Rochester BC Carb Place ? Carter C-1 ? I want to get as far away as possible from this carb. I'ts terrible On gas, They Leak , Burn way to rich. Dosn't matter if it's new Rebuilt, or what ever. I'm almost ready to put a VW SOLEX on 1962 Chevrolet Bel air 235 CID 3.8L Not 3.9L I can't think of one chevy that carries a 235 cid 3.9L What's that all about.? These carbs leak at the throtle plate and that supposed to be normal. wut... in the front & in back I've tried grease. That only last about a week. Plus No one can tell me the correct float level 1" 9/32 ??? How about tell me in plain english . 7/16 ? 13/4" Float Drop ? any ideas? The only thing I can think of would be upgrade to a 2 barrel or quadrojet . seriously any other carb 2 bbl OR even a 409 4 bbl would get better mileage then this 1950's 1 bbl. Please help all arrows point back to the BC No matter where I go or what auto store. They say The BC . I'm done with that. All my parts , floats , kits, needle & seats, and about 17 bc carbs all went in the garbage today , and my car sits without no carb. any other carbs?. Really don't have alot of cash to to put in a new 350 motor. or fuel injection . The car runs Great, Tranny is fine brakes are good. I'm just sooo sooo tired of that BC I could put one together in my sleep blind folded. That's how many times I've been under the hood. Please help . I'm almost ready to modify a FORD motorcraft or EVEN dodge plymouth carbs

the 1ME carb is a one barrel that is mounted to a inline six... they used them up through 1990 in trucks and vans...
there are a bunch of other carbs that will work.... stop by your local carb rebuilder...
they will have piles of them to sample from.........
oh... and at least put in a pertronics electronic ignition system... it might take you 5 minutes to install it... works great... it all fits in under the cap... my mom put one in her ford truck.. and she was 78 at the time... shes 82 now.. shifting the manual trans... no power steering.. no power brakes... she stays off the roof now... the big earthquake a few years back in eastern alaska went off while she was up doing roofing.. she did not like the ride...and she was just south of the canadian border..

Hello again Motorheads.. On the BC Rochester carb In the POWER VALVE ASSEMBLY main well support not the plunger does that take a steel check ball ? or a aluminum check ball? under the 10mm brass nut.
