I have a 72 chevelle with a fresh(under 1500 miles)engine. It's a 350,.030 over, aluminum flat tops,882 heads w/2.02 stainless steel valves, bronze knurled valve guides, high lift aluminum roller rockers,292/488 cam. Will gas with 10% ethanol hurt anything in my engine? I have been told several different things.I know and respect the opinions on here, help me out.

Yes, the increased ethanol mix will have some harmful effects on your engine, but nothing immediately severe. See, because of the alcohol in methanol, you start getting alkyl deposits in the fuel system that will eat away at the fuel fittings, lines, and the carb itself. It'll also start to eat away at the pistons.
A 10 percent ethanol mix won't cause this immediately, but over time it'll happen.
Why do you want to run gas with 10% ethanol? Is it the only fuel available?

weigh your losses and gains, the damages to your engine aren't worth what little gains you'll get from ethanol

Exactly. Just get your engine tuned as best as possible (carb and ignition) and you won't need the ethanol.
