So I got a great deal on a 87' C1500 a few weeks ago 2wd auto 305 nothing special. It has turned into a bit of a project. My wife and son and I have been tinkering with it here and there. so far its droped with 2" spndels in the fron 3" blocks in the back and a simple set of ralleys all the way around its flat black right now cause we didnt want to do final paint till we were done with the motor. I work at a speed shop here in Ohio and I talk to hundreds of people a week about their SBC and when we go to car shows I find myself walking past cars without ever really being enterested in whats under the hood the parts list looks like somthing you could copy and paste from a motor recipe book. This is where I want to change things I have a 400 block and what I'm thinking is prolly going 30 over i'll have to see what kind of shape shes in first useing a 6" rod and a 3.25 crank. I know this wont be a tourqe monster or anything but its a bit different from what you see everyday and thats what I'm going for Ive never experinced one of these motors first hand or even heard one. Is this streetable power I think it will be a high RPM motor witch will be kind of cool aswell. overall power does not really consern me I just want to do somthing different instead of the cookie cutter SBC out there. does anyone have any insight on this?

Sounds like you've got a good plan for the truck, go with it.
