I have a 1979 Pontiac Grand Prix with a Chevrolet 305 engine stock and i would like to know what i will have to do to convert my chevy 305 which is carbureted to a 5.3 chevy vortec 2003, which is fuel injected. Do they share the same tranny mounts?
i neeed help!!

tranny mounts are the least of your worries... have you read the numerous articles on this swap up under the technical articles.. on not only this site but over at cc, hr. chp, it all depends on your degree of ability... it would be much simpler to build up a conventional small block chevy for it... maybe install a small block with a factory tbi unit... that is almost a bolt in.... only the fuel system needs to be upgraded.. and a hole in the firewall for the harness...
they made that g body up to 1987... so many later model parts will bolt right on... so you can go to a junk yard and get everything you need... except the knowlege to install it... you might even be able to swap in a later dash board and wiring harness for the rest of the systems to make it a true bolt on/in...

I'm trying to install a 76 454 with 66 oval port heads into a G body 79 malibu and this is no easy task the crossmember,front pulleys,power steering pump and exhaust manifolds are the main problems that have slowed me down to a crawl any help ??? PLEASE ( METRIC NUTS...)
