I just installed a 406 in a 69 vette and the owner gave me the original 350 which runs well but it's not anything i have a use for.I would like to know where the best place would be to off load the engine do you think it would e-bay or a vette site. The engine is missing the original intake and carb but it still has the original alum valve covers, camel back heads and mechanical tach drive distributor any input would be appreciated p.s any idea what these parts might be worth.

see if the small set of numbers stamped on the right deck surface match the last numbers of you vettes vin number.... if so... having that motor and parts that came with the vette make it worth double for restoration.... they sell motor carts for small blocks... that keep them close to the ground... so they can fit under a work bench....

there are lots of people out there looking for 69 vette motors... so they can restore their vettes...

it truly is worth keeping around...  if it is original.. the parts on it like filter housings.. plug wire shields and every thing else need to be kept also.................

if you  does match your vin numbers... (only the last few numbers) keep it...  hemmings motor news has a section with vette stuff...

you might also check a sister mag here..

I'd defintiely recommend holding on to that motor if it's the numbers matching engine. It's worth more than gold if you ever wanted to restore the car, or sold it to someone looking to restore the car. I'd defintiely bag the motor and stash it in a corner of your garage for the future.
