How do you take the glove box lock out in a 72 Nova? looked everywhere, searched the internet and books  

i take it that you have it open.... so you can see the back...

even better if you have a key...

there is a long wafer that is not retracted when the key is inserted...  you can use a long needle type tool or scribe to depress this wafer.. holding it down while you insert the key... then you can turn the lock cylinder and extract it... there is an 8 sided locking ring that is threaded in to retain the rear of the lock....

as far as i know there is no tool available ... so i just used something wedged in to loosen it...

it has been a while since i had one apart...   if you are still having problems.. email... i will dig in my deep box and see what i have  and take it out a few times ....
