Anyone out there have any experience with the OLD Racing Head Services company?  My latest project came with a 454 that they built.  I am pleased with the motor however trying to find out more about the engine without ripping it apart.

I've tried to contact them directly however the company changed hands since this motor was built and they have no info/history on it.

Comp Cams bought RHS. Give Comp a call, they can hook you up with info, if it's still around.

Yeah Comp bought RHS I have never had much luck getting any info out of them and if you have a old set its possible that comp well really be no help cause alot of the old part numbers dont cross over these heads are a pain in the but I usally try to stay away from them. For the price you can get a head of the same quality from a good brand name. But since you had these already when you boght the project you can try Comp and if that dosent work you will have to take them to a machine shop and just have them go through them and measure and spec everything so you know what your dealing with good luck I might have some info on a few numbers if you can find yours or have them let me know ans I'll see what I can find out.

Towards the end before comp bought them, the RHS stuff didn't have a good reputation. The company was in financial toruble, so they were pumping out heads to sell without any good quality control. This caused headaches for a lot of people.

Comp has cleaned up all of that mess, so now you can trust a set of RHS heads again. Give them a call anyway, they still might be able to help you. they might have an old RHS catalog they can give you specs from.
