I have a 2002 Camaro coupe.  When I turn corners, I am hearing the typical noise a front wheel bearing makes when it starts to wear out.  Straight driving is silent.  I need to replace front wheel bearings.

I have looked in my Chilton's Camaro book, but the front wheel bearings are not covered.  Does anyone know what is involved in changing out front wheel bearings??

Pull the rotors off, pull the wheel seal, remove the bearings, swap in new ones packed with grease, the reinstall the rotor.

hey man i have a 95 z28 and mine did the same thing, you dont just get to change just the bearings you have to replace the whole hub assembly. it cost me about $100.00 from my local Advance Auto Parts store.

One reply is right.  One is wrong.  The entire hub assy is removed.  It also cost me $100 at O'Riellys.  Very easy to change out.  Took maybe 1/2 hour.

Note:  Bearings are not removable

My reply was wrong. I forgot the 4th Gens don't have the standard rotor assembly that the 1st/2nd/3rd Gens do, that the 4ths use a floating rotor design with a hub.

That being said, it's still easy to fix like the guys above said, just that the parts are a bit more expensive.
