i am a motor idiot     i just need some help understanding these chevy motors     u guys talk like parts are interchangeable in these motors    i have a mazda rx7 with a chevy motor conversion kit   it has a 307 in it now      any help with what i could do with this motor would be greatly appreciated    or any help understanding chevy motors in general would also be greatly appreciated          aric

well, you can do endless things with that rx7..  if you keep with a 293 through 327 would be a fast reving v8.
350 - 383 stroker you could get 450hp and you would have an insane ride.  easy upgrades would be cam, intake, carb.
the 307 is an odd ball, i herd that gm threw them toghther out of spare parts. but its a smooth running fuel efficient engine.
