My baby is my numbers matching 66 ss ragtop, worked at the womans prison in chowchilla ca, the inmates did a chromaclear basecoat clearcoat paint job. I took pics of it ,and was corresponding with Damon Lee some years ago to maybe do a story on it. Don't hate me but I am about 75% done on a frame up resto on a 66 442. 455-m21-posi. and when thats done I have 2-74 nova's and a 73 that need my attention. I am retired and was retrained to do home inspections.my wife asked me when I was going to start, i told her i was'nt , that I was going to build cars/bikes. She was going to give me some grief until I sat her down to watch the barret-jackson auctions.then she gave me her permission ( like I really needed it) hahahaha.

My street car is a 1964 Impala Super Sport hardtop with a 425 horse 409, 4 speed Muncie, and a posi. It's fast and draws a crowd at carshows, but I get my heart beating quicker with a 75 Monte Carlo stock car on Saturday nights at Irwindale Speedway, small block 400, Turbo 350, and a steel mini spool, #11 Budweiser tribute pure stock. Sold the Harley and some other Ford stock cars, but still have a super clean 1966 F250 with a 60 over 460, C6, 370 rear gear, power disc brakes, power steering, Sears A/C, and Pioneer c/d. If I didn't have that tribute stock car I'd probably have that Impala at the dragstrip on weekends.

68 Bel Air wagons look stunning with that 427 engine, just passed up a 67 wagon with a 396, cool ride.

My wife and I are working on a 68 Impala SS. I'm still trying work out some small electrical kinks but otherwise she runs really great. 454, turbo400 and a stock 3:08 gear. Really nice on the south Texas highways. I'm not real computer savy, I need to fiqure out how to post some photos.

I drive a 1983 Monte Carlo SS. Rebuilt 1987 5.7 L-98 motor w/nitrous. 700R4 trans and Curry 9 inch 3:89 rearend with detroit 'soft-locker', Strange gears, and 31 spline axles. Future improvements; Aluminum fast burn heads, new exhaust from heads back(now that it is smog exempt here in AZ, time to get rid useless power robbers), bigger front brakes(Baer?), modern suspension, control arms, links, etc...(springs & shocks or are airbags better?), and Supercharger( Procharger, Vortech. Whichever is better for L-98 TPI?)

my toy is a '78 el camino. it started life as a base model 305 back in '82 when i bought it from the original owner. after years of getting me to work, the 305 was replaced with a mild 355 and there has been no looking back. next came a hotter cam, better heads, shift kit, second car for commuting, etc. you all know how this works, a little more hp leads to getting it to the pavement better which means more hp can go into the mix, on and on. over the years, all the up-grades have added up to my idea of a street/strip cruiser. the truck now: ZZ502 crate engine w/ 850 speed demon and GM cd ignition torque-tech 3 1/2" x 3" x-pipe dual full exhaust w/ flowmaster 3 chamber mufflers reworked 350 turbo w/ 11" TCI that stalls about 2600 rpm modified ford 9" disc brake differential w/ 3.50 gears and ME axles hoosier 195r-15's up front, hoosier DOT drag radial 275r-60-15's in back. all mounted on centerline convo pros this is just a small part of the list of modifications i've made over the years. it adds up to a very potent, reliable combination that is at home at the strip, or burning up the streets here in nw ohio. long hours at work kept me away from the track this summer, so i don't know what additional gains i made with the new carb and exhaust. both were very, noticable, seat-of-the-pants, improvements. in 2006, it ran 12.50's @ 111 mph, i know it's pulled at least a tenth or more off my times since then. it will never be the quickest car in these parts, but it commands respect wherever i go. more than a couple of people have found that out the best way, watching my rear bumper getting farther and farther ahead of them. PS i don't love any chevette.

Just finished winter maintenance on my 63 Vette drag car. Seen on page 104 of the Feb .2008 issue. After struggling with excessive bearing wear for a few seasons I finaly found a good oil. The oil I had used for years with great results went the low zinc route. Ditto for the tranny, no problems. Total cost to prepare for next year was just over 100 bucks. Priceless. Next I gotta pull the Powetrax unit out of my 66 Chevelle convert. I usually use Auburn units but thought I'd try something different. Big mistake. Can't get the #$&* thing to stop clunking, even with Lucas oil stabilizer additive. Gonna replace it with an Auburn unit. Anyone tried the Badman Carb fron Demon carbs? Sure would look good on the Vette, but I'm not gonna give up performance for looks. Can't seem to find any test results. Hey Barry Grant I have a test car if your listening.
