Hey, I need some advice here. I have a 350 chevy in my 78 Z28 camaro and I am looking into buying a roller lifter and rocker kit for it. I was woundering what would be my best options to go for. also I was looking for a more performance set of heads too. i was looking at the Eddlebrock heads available, but im not sure on what exactly would be best. can anyone help me out alittle?

When buying roller rockers, make sure they have a roller fulcrum, not just a roller tip. A rocker with just a roller tip does nothing for your engine.
If you're looking at upgrading your heads at the same time you're gonna install the roller cam, give the guys at CompCams a call. They can probably get you set up with a pair of RHS aluminum heads matched with a good hydraulic roller for your Camaro at a good price. They'll have a better cam selection than Edelbrock, so you'll be better off.
If the car's driven on the street regularly, you probably don't want to go with a cam bigger than .525" lift. You'll also want something with a wide lobe seperation so the motor will make a lot of vacuum, which'll help mileage and power.

the car is not going to be a car that i will go and drive for miles and miles but yes it will be a street car with (hopefully) around 400 horsepower or more so i can take it to the strip and have alittle fun with it on the side.

55 Guy is right about the rocker arms and the roller cam. I think that CompCams is an awesome cam. I would suggest going with Dart heads. They are CNC machined with square exhaust ports for best exhaust flow. This will keep the intake vacuum steady throughout all rpm ranges for whichever cam you decide to go with. Plus, with the wide lobe seperation it will sound like you really beefy.

Aluminumn heads with 180cc intake runners and 64cc chambers will complement the stock pistons and bump the CR up nicely, between 9.5-10:1, aluminum heads dissipate heat quicker than cast-iron and allow pump-gas operation with moderate compression. The GM fast-burn heads are a nice choice for a street 350. As previously mentioned a good set of roller-rockers will free up some horsepower. A hydraulic roller cam is the key to making serious power on the street. Solid rollers offer more power but require frequent lash adjustment...head over to sdparts.com or gmpartsdirect.com for specs on the 385hp fast-burn, zz350 and zz465hp SBC engines.
