I recently took my Camaro out for a test spin. I added the heavy duty sway bars from ADDCO as well as 17 inch tires to my coupe. I only have the V-6.
I found very quickly that anti-lock brakes are horrible on a modified car. It is almost impossible to brake in a corner.
How do I defeat these brakes??? I want to go back to the old way of using the brake pedal myself with no control over it.
thanks...........John

Well, you don't really want to "defeat" the anti-lock system on the car. That could be a problem later, especially if you're in a situation where you'll need the ABS system.
Sounds like you've got one of two problems. Either the 17-inch wheels have somehow thrown the ABS system out of whack. The other possibility is your proportioning valve is messed up, and the brake bias is way off.

The question I asked was spun to another area like on a lot of news shows. Anti-lock braking (ABS) is not used in any form of racing.
In my experience with my modified suspension on my Camaro, hard braking before or in a sharp corner cannot be accomplished. It can even be dangerous as no braking happens once the ABS system takes over. In other words, hard braking at all is not allowed by ABS.
I will do some research and find out how to either defeat the ABS on my Camaro or if I can install a switch to turn it on and off when I need to.
I will wite an article in the future one how ABS can be defeated and what my results were with hard braking in corners...............

Sorry I misunderstood you, you original post said nothing about road racing the car, I thought you just meant on the street.
I wonder if one thing you might could do is move the ABS sensors so they can't see the reluctor wheel, but won't trip a warning light for no function? Or, just unplug the sensors at each wheel, and remove the bulb in the dash for the warning light, problem solved. With no ABS sensors, the system shouldn't work at all.
