My project car is a 1970 chevelle; non-SS sb 350. It still has the original 3-speed that was converted from a column shift to a stick shift. I would like to swap out the transmission for a modern 5-speed, and wanted to ask if anybody knows of or can reccomend any popular tranny swaps that are easy on the pocket book and requires little fabrication mods. I was looking at the tremtec 5-speeds, but thats way too expensive for my taste, but would be nice if money was no object.
