Hey guys, I have been around chevy engines for a long time. But one thing I have not gotten into, is timing an engine that times at greater than stock timing degrees. I know I need to install the crank gear one way, or the other, to advance the crank. What I don't know, is which way? The gear set I have has the three notches for the gear to go on. The center notch is for TDC. The notch to the left is for retarding the crank, and the notch on the right is for advancing the crank. Is this correct? After getting the crank gear on correctly, what do I do to set the timing to the 127 degrees BTDC? What timing mark do I set it at, to get the 127?
