I have a 350 chevy with edelbrock performer heads, model 60909 with CAM 2102, and a performer intake model 2701 on a stock 350 with flat top pistons...
What is a better performing CAM for my set up?

To help you find a better cam, we need some more info first. What year is your motor? What compression ratio? Auto or manual trans? What rear gear are you running? How often are you gonna be driving the car on the street?

Once we know all of this info along with what you've already provided, we can help you figure out what cam would be best.

Hey 55, thanks for your fast reply......
To answer your questions...

The year of the motor is 78 I think?
The compression is 9.1 to 1
I have a automatic transmission 350 turbo
And I have 12 bolt rear end with 410 gears
And this is my play car, mostly a weekend car.

Thanks for your help.

That cam you have is fairly mild. I'd recommend you look at one of the new Comp Cams Thumpr camshafts. These have a mean idle sound but are fully streetable and easy to tune. I'd give their tech line a call and see which one will match up best for your heads. One thing though, you need to find out what the max lift is on your valvesprings. The info sheet that came with your heads should tell you this.

I think something just over '500" lift with 1.5 roller rockers, one-piece pushrods (at least get heavywall pushrods) will meet your performance goal.

Start your own thread first and we'll go from there.

By starting your own thread you'll get answers specific to your question(s). Sometimes someone will read only the first post in a thread and respond to that, in this case it's a six year old question.

We need much more information about your combination too before we can recommend anything.
